Disney on Ice, Saturday Jan. 22nd

Well yesterday was another fun filled day. We splurged and bought tickets to Disney on Ice. So at 10:30 we were off to the U.S. Airways arena to watch all of the fun. We were kinda up high so some of the pictures didn’t turn out but the most fun was watching Bentley’s expressions. He is so animated and so much fun to be with. After we got home we fixed the bikes to take a bike ride but that didn’t go so well. Bentley’s legs weren’t quite long enough for the little bike that we have. So we just went on a scooter ride instead. He helped Grandpa feed the chickens, and gather the eggs. We played four or five Wii games. He also helped Colten and Caleb feed rats to the snakes. He just loves those rats and it’s real  fun to watch him. I guess our fun filled Saturday’s will be coming to an end because Bentley will be going home in a few days. I know that he misses his Daddy and wants to go home but I sure will miss him here visiting and playing with us. We are so thankful for the time we get to spend with each of our sweet grandchildren. We love each one of them so much.

A day in the snow

Today was a blast! We got up and drove up past Strawberry and played in the snow. First we found a good spot to build a trail then we started packing it down with boots and then the red toboggan. Colten and Caleb built a small hill to get a good start on. Bentley loved going down with the boys because they could go faster than when he went by himself. We built a snowman and at the end had a snowball war. It was just the perfect amount of snow to play in and not freezing cold. This old Grandma even tried to go down on the three ski sitter that was being enjoyed by all. I did pretty good until near the end when I turned it too sharp and biffed. It was fun while it lasted though. Bentley wanted to go down with me but I was afraid that I would biff with him and hurt him so I left that to the boys. The toboggan broke into three pieces after a few times down. I think it was meant for smaller kids than Caleb who was using it the most. The blue saucer that we took didn’t ever get going very fast. Shandraya went down with Bentley a few times also but almost every time she tried to go by herself she tipped it.

We took over 300 pictures I hope that I didn't post too many but we had so much fun we just wanted to show as many as we thought that you might enjoy.

Merry Christmas 2010 and Happy New Year 2011

Done with 2010 and excited about 2011. Many fun and exciting things happened in 2010.
Our children continue to bless our lives. We had a wonderful family vacation this past summer with all of the children and grandchildren except Danielle (traveling is much too difficult for her). We had two new grandchildren bless our lives and we will get one more this next year. We hope that we can all stay well and enjoy the many blessings that we have in our lives and have a wonderful coming year. We hope that all of our many friends, neighbors, and family have a blessed year also.

Toilet Paper

It seems that we have the perfect yard for loving friends to toilet paper our front yard. We have had it happen four times this past year. We are so blessed that everyone thinks we need their toilet paper we really don't I can buy our own but thanks for thinking of us.

This is from one in the past. The ones below are from this past job.
You know it is so much fun to come home from a camping trip where your hot, tired and dirty and you have to unpack the tents, sleeping bags, put everything away etc. and all you want to do is take a nice relaxing shower but no you have to spend an hour or two and clean up the front yard.

Rain storm

Yesterday was awesome. I was outside with Nixon and it was getting cooler and cloudy and then the thunder started and the rain and then all of a sudden it started hailing. The electricity went off for a little bit, and the house was shaking from all of the thunder. It was so fun to watch out of the back window. I got my babysitting kids to come and watch. When it was all over we all went outside to see the damage that was done up and down 26th street. Trash cans all tipped over, trees down, yards looking like they got another round of irrigation. We lost a limb on a tree and a couple of shingles off of the house. Neighbors lost whole trees and huge limbs. It was fun to play and splash in the water when it was all done.

We've got Spirit

We've got spirit yes we do, we've got spirit how bout you? This week is spirit week for Taylor Jr. High. Today was nerd day so Shandraya dressed the part. She is on the yearbook committee so she really gets involved with all that is going on at school. I would have never worn what she did to school but then I didn't and don't have the self confidence that she has. She is one amazing  young lady! She loves life and has such a fun positive attitude about everything.

My everyday life

Just a few pictures of some of the best things in my life. I have a lot to be grateful for, my wonderful husband, my children and grandchildren. The list could go on and on. Life is full of everyday business. Sometimes I don't take the time to fully enjoy life and all that I have. I love that most of my grandchildren and children are close by. We miss the ones that we don't get to see often.
Thanks to Brandi and her blog I borrowed a couple of pictures from her so that I would have current ones of the grand-kids that are far away. We love to see whats happening with your sweet family.

Jones Family Picture

After all is said and done the 2010 Jones family reunion was a great success. I got the group family picture printed up really large for myself and my children and it looks awesome. It was fun getting together and visiting with all the others. It was interesting to note that as we ate you could see that families still sat together most often. I guess it's because that's who we know the best. It will be fun to see everyone at the next one. Hope that more can come. If I counted right we were missing about 53 in the picture. That would be really fun it get everyone there.

Family Reunion

This past week was so much fun. Our family went to Zion's National Park area for a couple of days and then to a Jones' family reunion near Kanab, Utah where their was about 100 of us. Then onto Lake Powell for a few days. Mike and Debbie Garlock joined us at the lake with there boat and knowledge of the lake. It was an awesome time with them. That was all of our favorite part of the trip. I think that we might have to look into a Lake Powell trip again. Just a few of the many, many pictures taken. I will post some more later (maybe).

Well, well it has been awhile. Life seems to be so busy that I don't take time to put it in my blog. This past month in a nut shell. Jeremy and Joanna blessed us with a new grandson. Layton Jones I can hardly believe that he is one month old already. Time sure goes by fast.
We went to Bison Ranch for Mother's day weekend which was very relaxing and enjoyable.

I sat around and played cards and sat in the hot tub a few times until I was a raisin each time. Doug fixed breakfast Sunday morning.
Shandraya on the Bison outside of our place. I always love going there because there isn't anything to do but relax.
Shandraya got her hair cut so cute,

She also had her end of the year dance performance with Higher Ground Dance Studio.More pictures on that when I get them from the photographer. We poured cement for an extension of the current shed. Maybe it will be big enough for all of Doug's treasures now so we can get the yard cleaned up a bit.

We also poured a little walk way on the west side of the house that was needed.
Got great news that Brandi and Trevor are going to have another baby BOY in October.
Doug and Caleb went on a survival trek this past Monday-Wednesday I think all of the boys and the leaders decided that running water, food to eat,  and comfy beds are really great. I don't think they will opt to do a survival trek anytime soon. Doug left again Thursday morning for girls camp and will be home Saturday. Just keeping busy with life and work. It's fun to read everyone's blogs and see what you are up to. Have a wonderful summer.

Our new puppy

She is such a sweet little dog. She is fitting in just fine. Can't decide on a name yet but we will within the next couple of days.

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

We had a very enjoyable Saturday morning a couple of weeks ago. We got up early and drove out to the desert to First Water trail.  We hiked up the water for a couple of miles and then cut back over the top of a couple of mountains. That is when Shandraya and I got more than our share of jumping cactus in our tennis shoes and backs of our calves. Doug and Caleb wore boots so they didn't have a problem. There was quite a bit of water and the flowers were just starting to bloom. It was so green and pretty. We went early enough in the morning that when we started it was really cool but by the time we left it was getting pretty hot. I couldn't believe how many people were just arriving for the hike.

Marshmallow Guns

Well we tried to think of something fun to do for Family Home Evening and so we got out the bag of marshmallows and the marshmallow guns that we got for Christmas. I saw them and ordered 4 guns online then I was out at Penny's Outlet and picked up 4 more thinking it would be fun for more people to be involved. Well it took about 5 minutes to load the gun and then about 10-15 seconds to unload it on someone. By the end of the evening We were just picking the marshmallows up off of the floor and throwing them at each other. Mostly at me because I was the one taking the pictures.
It was fun but the guns will go on to Goodwill.
