The resort pools covered about 4 acres.

We are in front of the beautiful resort in Cabo, Mexico. We flew down there on Saturday the 21st of June and had a wonderful relaxing time. The resorts pools were spectacular. I really enjoyed myself doing almost nothing. Believe it or not Doug even did all of the dish washing while we were there. Let's see I didn't have to make a bed, meals were a group effort. I just sat back and read three books. What a life!

We got the sod all layed this morning. It looks so nice. We only have three more areas to finish. The pavers next to the patio and the platform area and the waterfall. Yee-pee we are almost done.

At the family reunion last weekend (6-6-08 to 6-8-08) in Virden, New Mexico. We enjoyed a hay ride around the town while Uncle LeRoss (grandpas older brother) told us about many old sites that Grandma and Grandpa Jones lived at and did various activities at. We saw their school, and different homes they lived in, and the farm. It was really hot, but informative. I think around 65 of us showed up for the weekend.

Our first plantings in the basin area

We got started with the plantings and the platform area. When we got irrigation the other day we reliazed that the platform isn't high enough to stop the water from coming down so we are going to have to redo it and make it higher. Back to the drawing board. We will be laying the sod next week. That should be a lot of fun. But all in all it seems to be coming along good.

Memorial day was a great day to get a lot accomplished on our backyard project. It's coming along very nice.

Tiffany came over the other day and gave Kierra her first hair cut. She didn't like it at all. The only way we kept her sitting still at all was for Shandraya to keep feeding her ice cream.

Colten just got done digging a huge hole to plant one of three trees that we are putting in the new area

This is the beginning of our huge backyard project. We finally came up with the plan so that when the summer thunder storms come on top of irrigation we don't flood out our garage and basement. We hired a man to remove 16 dump trucks full of dirt. We are customizing our own retention basin. This will be the first of many pictures to come I hope. We have made a lot of progress but still have a ways to go. It is getting hot so it's harder to go outside and work

Doug and I did a quick weekend get away to Sodona, AZ a few weeks ago. It was an enjoyable trip but we sure enjoyed getting back to our own comfy bed.

Danielle with the Suns Gorilla

Danielle got a big hug from the Phoenix Suns gorilla. We were at a walk-a-thon for the Muscular Dystrophy association. She watches every game of their's. She is a big fan of the Suns

Jones update

It seems that I play catch up all the time. One day maybe I will get organized enough that I will have time to do everything that I need to do, but in the mean time patience will have to do. We have done a lot of fun stuff since the last time I did anything on this blog. Hopefully I will be able to show a few pictures now that I have my computer up and running again.
